Job Summary
The environment is one of business transition/merger and consolidation, continuous improvement in terms of cost, service, quality, processes and leveraging costs with Suppliers to provide the optimum value to the company. The purpose of the role is to support the management of cost of sales requirements and specific customer bid work in relation to third party commercials. Working with functional heads and local teams to support the development of sourcing strategies. Supervising the implementation of the strategies and managing subsequent improvement programmes. Local Market Unit facilitation and support of the Corporate and Market Unit Strategic Sourcing Activities by using the strategic sourcing methodologies, e-procurement and tools and training of cross-functional users. Co-ordination of local cross-functional teams and priority setting.
Responsibilities
· Contract negotiation of local needs in the Corporate and Market Unit.
· Management of the Suppliers to ensure contracts are in place and are delivering to the terms.
· Ensure each customer related project develops third party strategies that optimise total cost of ownership, supplier base, optimised negotiation for business, acquisition process and demand management.
· Facilitate continuous improvement of all aspects within supplier relationships.
· Development of sourcing strategies within cross functional teams that link to the Corporate, and Market Unit initiatives.
· Support the implementation of Corporate Procurement Strategies, processes, systems and procedures ensuring all skills and resources are used to meet the needs of the business teams.
· Contribute to the development of the business strategy of the Sourcing function within the MU, for example compliance with all SOX requirements.
· Ensure the provision of a safe and secure working environment, in keeping with legal requirements.
· Actively contribute to the continuous improvement process and the ongoing development of a TQM culture by, for example, changing behaviour and identifying and implementing improvements to processes and activities, and encourage others to do the same.
Key Performance Indicators:
· All contacts to be in place (closed) in a timeframe to support the business requirements.
· Achieved cost savings initiatives, rationalization of supplier database, key contributor within winning bid Teams.
· Implement priorities of the MU Sourcing Director and Heads of Sourcing, meeting the MU Sourcing Strategy and Objectives and the business needs of the local MU.
Essential Experience
· Outstanding contractual (terms & conditions) experience.
· Contract Management and cost analysis.
· Experience of strategic procurement in a managerial capacity working with a diverse and geographically remote user community and supplier base.
· In-depth knowledge of leading and latest sourcing techniques.
· In depth commodity knowledge (industry specific).
· Good understanding/ expertise of Supply Chain Management.
· Customer-oriented and sound business acumen.
· Pan-European or Strategic Supply Chain experience.
· Project Management and Facilitation Skills.
